Organize your life!

Are you all over the place? Do you tend to lose things? Have you ever found your portable phone in the refrigerator? Or perhaps your clean laundry starting to mix in with the dirty clothes? How can you get started living your best life forever if you are in 10 different places? While it is nice that you are keeping up with this busy world and bringing multi-tasking to a new level, but come on! Don’t pull yourself a part, pull yourself back together! You will feel so much better!

Getting organized is so important. It gives you a starting point and a firm foundation on which you can build your new simplified life and fill it full with the things that matter. When things are in order you feel like you can expand, grow and enjoy.

Here are some tips to help you as you organize your life:

Buy the right supplies. Is your paper work in junk drawers? Get a file cabinet. You need the right tools and containers to get this right. Why sort out things only to put them back in disarray? So go out buy those sorting supplies.

Schedule the time to do this process in your calendar. We may know we want to do this hard core organizing but then never get around to it. So go ahead and write it in your schedule. Be brave book a day and time for you to start.

Start in one corner of one room, pull things apart and start sorting. Don’t try to tackle your whole house, apartment or the entire room. Start small here and only take one corner at a time. Bills, statements, and papers are a huge task in itself. Don’t try to add kitchen supplies, your clothes and paperwork at the same time.  Pick one.

Stay focused. Don’t allow yourself to get side tracked on to another project. Stick with one project at a time. If you start several projects at the same time you will feel even more un-organized than before you started.  If you are tempted to start a different project than the one you started ask yourself: Do I really want my whole home to be under construction? Answer: No! For me, there is nothing worse than living in a construction zone.

Now get to it. Don’t forget to take deep breaths to move you through this. Visualize a simplified, inviting, clean and clear environment where things are in place.

Use the mantra: I am in the process of organizing my life.

Optional: Add music to keep the energy up and the things rolling.

Good luck ! Get organized baby!

Simplify, simplify, simplify or in other words S-I-M-P-L-I-F-Y

Want to make room for your new improved life or a new improved you? Well, then bare with me because you will need to throw out, pair down, and cut things back! Have a hard time doing this? Here is a mantra to get you going: “Out with the old and in with the new!” I am living proof that you have to let go of the old in order to allow space for any newness to be able enter in.  After all, how can you possibly fit anything new under your bed or in your closet if everything is already jam packed full of the past? The answer is – you cant! So start this process and give yourself 30 days.

Simplfying is so important to living a better life or a brand spanking new life. If you are ready and want this as badly as I did then take my challenge.  I challenge you to do this in all areas of your life and give yourself some room to grow. Come on girls and boys- you need to breathe! Let’s clean up your rooms. Stop hording, cluttering, stashing, storing and pack-ratting your living space and your life. Here are some cool and clever ways to do this.

Go down to 1 only credit card. Yes that is right! Keep your life, spending and monthly statements simple so that you can focus your intentions and only spend money on things that matter.

Cut back on expenses. Are you spending money in so many areas on so many services that you forget to pay some bills each month? Then you know it’s time to consolodate or simplify your bills and commitments.

Take your time back. Is your schedule so bursting at the seams that when one thing ends you are supposed to be at the next event? Stop over committing and clear space in your day and weekyou’re your own personal “down time”. It is amazing what kind of fun you can have with weekends off!

Spring clean any time of year. So what if it is not the standard season to spring clean? Do it anyways! You will feel better and more refreshed.  Get a box of trash bags, and start filling them up with things you have not used in the past 6 months. Take these things down to the local donation center and wish them good-bye. Or better yet give things away to friends and people you need to thank in your life.

Rage war on your wardrobe. Grab those old beat up clothes from your closets and drawers and fling them over your head into non-transparent trash bag for donation. Why not use clear trash bags? Well, because you may be tempted to stick your hands back into your old news. Keeps those hands out of your trash! Remember that one woman’s trash is another woman’s treasure. Give your old look away and let the new you come in to shine.

OPTIONAL: Recruit a de-clutter buddy! Ask a friend to help you clean out your stuff. Best thing yet they can help talk you out of keeping things and may be even take some junk off your hands. Let them know your intention is to truly let go of stuff and get down to the bare basics and ask them to hold you accountable. Make sure to let them know they will be burning calories in the process and then entice them with taking them out to dinner.

Good luck !

Is it time to surrender things?

Use this tool to help: The Surrender Tissue Box

Is it time for you to give it up? Are you really in the driver seat for everything happening in your life? Or have you realized that you are not in control all things but you are still trying to hang on? Has the point come to finally surrender and let go of things that you do not have control over? Have you realized some attachments to certain people, situations, or things in your life are not serving you? Do you want to release them lovingly and turn them over? Then try this little “self-ceremony” out.  It is a great and effective tool for letting go and surrendering.

All you will need is a tissue box, a pen and small slips of paper. Write the things that you want to surrender from your mind, heart and body so that you can be free to be more present, loving and healed. These things can be people who you feel you are attached to, bad feelings, situations you have no control over, negative thoughts and anything else going on in your life. Then simply fold the paper up and tuck it in the tissue box below the tissues.  Rub your hands together and whalla! You have surrendered.  Good work if you have got this far!

My personal experience doing this exercise has shown me its usefulness and power.  I notice that by the time I use the last tissue of the box and reread all the things I have surrendered, miraculously all those situations and circumstances have worked themselves out!  Even more so, I find that my worry, anxiety and fear did not help play a part in the outcome. I find that the way things were eventually resolved was nothing that I could imagine happening at the time. And to my great surprise everything is always resolved and OK.

Someone said to me that this tool helped them learn to let go with love because usually they would let go and leave a lot of claw marks along the way.

People often ask me: “Who or what are we surrendering to?”

Great question! This can be your choice. Choose what works for you. This can be God, Your Higher Power, Your Higher Self, The Universe, Mother Nature, Love or anything else that you feel has more power and love to heal the thing you are struggling with.

Here are some examples people have surrendered in their boxes:

Ex-boyfriend or ex-girlfriend (very popular)

A parent’s behavior or control

Anxiety, Fear, Stressful decisions

Work issues

Weight-issues

Self-doubt

I encourage you to start this process today! Why wait? It is so easy to do and so helpful for your life. My question to you: Who would you be able to be without these things?

Got a Dream?

Do you have a dream? Then try out this creative visioning exercise. It could help your dreams not only come true but “magically” come to you! How does it get any better than that? Your dreams coming to you! Who says getting what you want in life has to be hard? Start today and create a Vision Board to give manifesting a try.  What have you got to lose? You might actually become a believer in universal The Law of Attraction.

It is so easy to do. Simply find pictures, words, and clippings of things you want to have in your life and post them to a board. Magazines are a great source. When you put your vision out in a visual and physical form you have taken a first step in manifesting your dreams.  Congratulations! Now sit back with patience and allow yourself to receive. Let your dreams come true. Dig deep and truly believe that you deserve your dreams.

Three important things to keep in mind:

#1:  Don’t get attached to the details. While it is good to be as specific as possible about the details of what you would like, as you post your clippings with power and excitement, use this mantra; “This, something equivalent, or something even better ”.

#2:  Let go of the need to figure out how you will get these things. Visioning is not about defining how you get there but rather discovering it. Don’t close any doors by attempting to define your path. Keep all possibilities and paths open. This also gives you the freedom to dream big.

#3:  Don’t aim for perfection. Release the need for this board to be perfect in format, content or structure. Clippings on your Vision Board can simply give the essence of where you want to be in a year, who you want to be with, what things you want to have, where you want to live and such. Allow your board to messy and spontaneous looking.

Optional:  Add a picture of you looking your best or a great childhood photo to the center of your Vision Board.

Optional:  Create a fun Vision Board night and do this co-creative process with friends to add more energy and enthusiasm.

Lastly, it is up to you where you want to keep your Vision Board. Post your board where you can see it daily or just put it under your bed where you sleep and dream. Happy visioning! It worked for me. It works if you work it.
